A young monk, a disciple of Saint Premanand, jumped from a four-story building at an ashram in the Varahghat area of Vrindavan on Friday. He died while undergoing treatment. His genitals had been severed, and a blood-stained grinder was found in his room. In light of these details, the police are investigating the matter from multiple angles.
Premanand Maharaj’s ‘Kelikunj Ashram’ is located in the Varahghat area. A short distance away stands the four-story ‘Guru Kripa Kunj Ashram,’ which houses only initiated disciples of Premanand Maharaj. On Friday morning, Deepak—also known as Rasik Dulari Sharan (25), a native of Jabalpur—jumped from the top floor of this ashram. The incident caused a stir. After informing Premanand Maharaj’s ashram, the injured young man was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The monk lived in a four-story building
Local police received information in the morning that a monk had been brought to Sarvodaya Hospital for treatment in an injured state. Upon investigation, the police discovered the matter was linked to Saint Premanand’s circle of disciples. Reports indicate that Deepak (Rasik Dulari Sharan) had been part of Saint Premanand’s group for about two years. After receiving initiation from the saint, he resided in the four-story building near Radha Vatika in Varahghat. Senior police officers arrived at the hospital and initiated an investigation. Police recovered a diary and a blood-stained grinder from the deceased’s room; it is suspected that the grinder was used to sever Rasik Dulari Sharan’s genitals.
Suicide or something else?
The police are investigating whether this was a case of suicide or something else. According to police sources, CCTV footage shows the disciple jumping from the top floor, but the reason behind his action remains a subject of investigation. The fact that his genitals were severed has added a suspicious element to the case. Whether someone else did this or Parikar acted on his own is a matter of investigation; the police are examining every aspect of the case. Kotwali Station House Officer (SHO) Ashwini Kumar stated that CCTV footage from the building and the surrounding area is being reviewed.
Police Informed by the Hospital
Circle Officer (CO) Sandeep Singh stated that the police received information about the incident from the hospital. Upon being notified, the police sent the body for a post-mortem examination and informed the family members. A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and the matter is under investigation. City SP Rajiv Kumar Singh stated that the deceased was an initiated disciple of Premanand Maharaj. The police have arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation; his diary and mobile phone have been seized and are being examined. CCTV footage is also being scrutinized.
